
This spectacular 88km trail will offer riders the chance to experience the rich heritage of the Pureora Forest Park. Cyclists will ride through forest terrain, passing 800-year-old trees, a bush tramway and historic timber-milling sites. Situated within a three hour drive of Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua and Taupo, the trail will cater for all levels of cycling ability.

Time for average rider is 4.5 hours covering 44 km of stunning native bush,ancient timber tramways and the longest swing bridges in New Zealand.
This is a grade 2 ride on smooth pumice 3 meters wide in most places.
Ridden for pureora to Black Fern Lodge is mostly down hill ridding as is the 2nd stage of 44 km to ongarue.
This trip for mountain bikers or walkers is the best you will do in New Zealand and do able over a weekend.
3 hours drive from auckland, arrive friday night to stunning home cooked dinner, wine ,cold beer, rustic lodge, log fire, warm bed, glow-worms, waterfall and blue ducks!
